IYT Courses & Sailing Events - July 2018 & Beyond...
Ahoy Sailors, Shipmates & Friends, living the dream? MANY years ago, I went out for a sail. The original plan was a 2 year circumnavigation. 2 years later my partner and I were still cruising in the Pacific with no intensions of getting back to the "grind" anytime soon. Read all about it here: Seven Years in the Pacific
There's been a lot of water under the keel since then. Changes in attitudes, changes in latttudes, sailing the sometimes turbulent mostly awesome waters of life.
Setting sail from Hawaii those many years ago, it would have been impossible to guess where our ship would take us!
As we preparing to leave it all behind and set out for adventure, there were some who recommended against it. Think about your future, they said...
Well, the future has turned out all right! With enough sailing and living adventures to fill a series of books, a beautiful family, colorful friends and a successful, rewarding sailing school business, I can honestly say there are absolutely no regrets!
Taking those first steps in "living your dreams" is what separates the dreamers from the acheivers. YOU have to do it. YOU need to make the move. YOU need to be the one who will get the ball rolling.
As so many of our sucessfull alumni, now owners, bluewater sailors, charter captains and crew will testify, completing the SailQuest 10 day Crew/Skipper's course is not the end of anything... but a critical step to making sailing dreams come true.
At SailQuest Sailing School we train our students to responsibily handle a yacht on their own. But perhaps more importantly, we encourge new sailors to push forward and realize their sailing goals.
An adventurer, a new owner, a cruising sailor, prepares. Plans are made and destinations are selected. Docking lines are cast off and sails are filled. YOU are living the dream. Your destiny will be revealed as the watery miles roll by.
Make SailQuest a part of your sailing future. Learn to sail with experienced sailors who know how it is done and how to encourage others.
The SailQuest 10 Day IYT Sailing Course is a carefully organized, fast paced Learn to Sail program based at Ocean Marina, Pattaya, Thailand. This action-packed sailing school is targeted towards people who want to develop the knowledge, skills, confidence and experience to excel on the water, whether day sailing or cruising the world.
As you will see in the SailQuest 10 Day Sailing Course Daily Program, we pack a lot of action into the time students spend with us. First and foremost, students typically sail over 200+ nautical miles during this course. These are valuable training miles where students will be taking an active part in the operation of the boat alongside experienced instructors.
SailQuest students get the coaching and guidance they need to become confident sailors, crew members, captains or owners and gain a practical understanding of yacht operation and management.
In the past couple of months Team SailQuest has competed in our 2 local regattas, the Top of the Gulf Regatta based at our home port of Ocean Marina and we have completed the 450 nautical mile round trip voyage to Ko Samui and back where we raced in the always fantastic Samui Regatta 2018.
We offer these events to join-in sailors, people just like YOU who are making an effort to gain on-the-water experience, develop new sailing skills and are keen to get some sailing and racing excitement in their lives.
Don't miss you chance to participate in an unforgetable sailing experience!
Stay tuned for new join-in sailing events and dates to be posted to the SailQuest website in the near future.
